The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty
By: Jenny Han

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is the ultimate cliché. That is a not a bad thing though. (I mean seriously who wouldn’t want to turn into the pretty swan one summer with two good-looking brothers vying for your attention.) The main character Belly was someone whom I found to be at times kind of shallow and selfish. Also due to the fact that I am Team Jeremiah (GO JEREMIAH!!!) I found it incredibly frustrating that Belly continued to be hung over and love struck over Conrad despite the fact that he was kind of a jerk. I mean I understand he is the whole ‘brooding and silent type’ but come on he practically ignores her for her whole life. I do not understand the love there for I am not a fan of instant love or love with no basis. Then there is Jeremiah (insert sigh) the ‘sweet, kind, and reliable best friend’ type of guy who also develops feelings for Belly.

Do you see the choice here?
The meanie face or the sweet best friend?

I personally would go for the sweetheart.

However my frustration over the love triangle does not mean to say this isn’t a great book to check out. For it is a great, light and fun summer read that I think most teens would enjoy because of the fact that we all secretly wish it would happen to us. Hopefully you guys will check it out and get sucked into the sweet cliché that is summer romance.

Happy Reading!

Elevator Music

Wattpad book:

Elevator Music by: Jordy_Marie

What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with Hollywood's hottest sensation? Well, you certainly wouldn't fight with him over baseball, like Addie Clark would...
Elevator Music is a story about coming-of-age, love, and acceptance. It follows Addie Clark, a compulsive liar who pushes everyone away from her. She is sent to New York to live with her father. One strike of chance, quicker than lightning, and an elevator will change Addie's life drastically.
Photo and Summary are from: http://www.wattpad.com/story/569017-elevator-music

Elevator Music is honestly one of the best books I have read on Wattpad. There is not a single chapter in this story that didn't make me burst out laughing.

The main character, Addie, is absolutely hilarious especially when she banters about baseball with the guy she met in the elevator, Yankee cap guy, a.k.a Hollywood's hottest sensation. Addie is also a compulsive liar, she pushes everyone away from her and so she has a therapist. A therapist who makes her write poems to help her "express" herself and these poems that she writes literally just crack me up.

This book is amazing in so many ways. The story plot, the characters, the style of writing and then there's the author's ability to turn me into a retarded seal (you know, when you laugh so hard no sound comes out of your mouth and you're just sitting there clapping and looking like a weirdo to other people) Yup. That's the one.

This really is a good book so I hope you guys decide to check it out. The author wrote a book that I know many will enjoy so, go on, click the link above to start reading Elevator Music. I know you guys won't regret it.

Happy Reading! :)

Clockwork Angel

Clockwork Angel

By:Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Angel is the first installment of the Infernal Devices trilogy. It follows Teresa Gray, better known as Tessa, and her voyage to the great city of London during the Victorian Era upon the death of her guardian. Arriving in London, Tessa is swept into world where magic, warlocks and Shadowhunters exist. Where the shadow of the Magister, who wants to use her for unknown purposes, is lurking in every corner. Tessa must find refuge among the only people who can help her, the Shadowhunters.

I really enjoyed this book. Who am I kidding I LOVE this book. This has got to be one of my most favorite books and I have been dying to review it. Not only is this book great, it is written by one of the greatest authors out there in my opinion.

One of the main things that make this book so special are the characters. The three main characters Tessa, Will, and Jem are so intriguing each with their own subplot which only adds more to the story. Tessa with the mystery surrounding her family, Jem with his illness and Will with his supposed angst against all that is love yet with the ability to quote The Tale of Two Cities (insert fainting from Will’s dashing good looks and charm).

Plot=good
Characters=good
Presence of Will in the story=good

What is there to not like?
NOTHING

The way that Cassandra Clare writes just captivates you from the moment you begin to read her book. The book flows like a river seamlessly coming together until before you know it you are screaming and yelling obscenities as to why the book had to end.

Happy Reading!

Little Miss Perfect

Little Miss Perfect

 Little Miss Perfect

 By:writerbug44
Lindsay Wilson was born different from everybody else. No, she's not a vampire, werewolf, or some super hero. But she can use her whole brain to function. Lindsay knows everything about everything. She has a perfect, photographic memory, and she has mastered every single sport under the sun. She graduated high school when she was seven. Yah, seven.
But now, Lindsay's mom is forcing her back into high school so she can live a normal teenage life. Too bad the only thing that Lindsay can't do is fit in.

Little Miss Perfect is a great story with an original plot that is so unlike other stories on wattpad. The story line is amazing(imagine graduating when you're seven) that I don't think anyone would be able to resist checking it out.

The main character, Lindsay, is a genius. She has never had the typical life with her super brain and everything but now everything changes as Lindsay is forced into returning to high school. She must now adjust to high school life, no longer as a seven year old. She has never really been able to fit in so will she be able to now or will she forever remain an outsider.

This is a great story and i hope you guys all decide to view it. The writer has created a story which i'm sure can appeal to many so i hope you guys read it and enjoy it as much as i did. Now i hope you guys all click the link above and follow Little Miss Perfect on the roller coaster that is high school.

Happy Reading! :)

The Selection

Title: The Selection
Author: Kiera Cass
Pages: 327
Publisher: HarperTeen

For thirty-five girls, the chance to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To go to the palace and compete for the heart of  the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
(Picture and Summary are from: http://www.kieracass.com/books/the-selection.html)

After the Fourth World War, America has fallen and a new place called Illea has taken it's place. Illea follows the castes system, there are 8 castes, One (the royals) being the richest and Eight being the poorest.

America Singer is a 5. She is in a secret relationship with her family friend's son. Why is it a secret? Well, Aspen is a 6, one caste lower than America and that is a big no no. Then The Selection happens. The Selection is a televised competition wherein 35 single girls between the ages 16 to 20 apply to be chosen and hopefully get a chance to win the heart of Prince Maxon and the throne.

America never wanted to enter The Selection and ignores her mother's wishes so isn't it a surprise when none other than Aspen convinces her to enter.

To cut the long story short, America gets selected(she didn't see that one coming) then Aspen breaks her heart(See Aspen isn't that great)and before she knew it she was on her way to the palace to compete in the Selection.

When, my friend lent me the book, I literally spent the whole night reading it. The story took me into a completely different world. I really enjoyed reading this book in America's perspective. She is a really kind and interesting girl whose endearing love for her family will surely capture your heart as it has mine. She puts you through a whirlpool of emotions as you see the ups and downs of The Selection. You can feel the heartbreak as she tries to sort out her feelings which are thrown into a disarray after meeting Prince Maxon.
Now I have one question for you are you Team Aspen or Team Maxon?(You don't even have to read it yet just say Team Maxon.)

This is a book that has been wonderfully executed by the author and keeps you flipping the pages for more. So I suggest you all read this book, I know you won't regret it.

Oh and if you have read it already, vote either Team Maxon or Team Aspen in the poll :) Just so you know if you are Team Aspen, you are no longer welcome to this blog.. jokee! :)

Happy Reading!
